Este capitulo me hizo sentir varias emociones: tristeza, coraje y felicidad. Me pusé triste (casi con ganas de llorar) cuando Alfonso y Miguel sorprenden a Esperanza y su mama con unos de los rosales que salvaron del fuego de Aguascalientes. Al ver el rosale plantado, Esperanza se recuerda de su papa y de la ultima vez que ella estuvo en frente de las rosas. : (
Verdaderamente no sentí tanto coraje como incredulidad cuando la mama de Esperanza, Hortensia y Josefina llenan tinas con agua caliente para que se bañen y Esperanza se para junto a ellas y estira los brazos de la manera que lo hacia en El Rancho de las Rosas, esperando que Hortensia la desnude. Esperanza lo hace de costumbre por que Hortensia la había bañado desde que era una niña. Cuando realiza que esta equivocada se avergüenza, recordandose de las ultimas palabras que le dijo Marta a voz burlona, "Aquí nadie te servirá."

ReplyDeleteIt just keeps getting more and more interesting, huh? Amiga, I have to confess that I have finished the book! I couldn't help my self. (It became my "Teresa" replacement... jaja) I love the pictures of the almendras. And the almendra dessert picture is making my mouth water! YUMMY!
ReplyDeleteI'm going to be here every week though, reliving the different chapters because it only gets better and more cliff hangers to come. I thought the surprise of Miguel and Alfonso planting one of the rosa plants de su papa was so sweet and almost made me cry! This has been an awesome book. So glad I won it, because like I said on an earlier post, I would have never picked it up or had the faith that I would have understood the storyline. There are tons of new words and to be honest I'm not sure I have or will retain them all. Maybe in the future.... if I hear one, it will pop into my head, and I'll know what it is. Kind of like riding a bike! LOL
It's the way it rolls off the tongue : )

When Isabel told Esperanza about the almond flan, my mouth started to water and it reminded me of the flan mi madrina makes for me when I visit her in Ontario. Amiga, what should we read next? Estoy bien animada. This exercise has been the best for helping gain confidence in reading Spanish. Poco a poco, right? <3
ReplyDeleteWhat's funny about the vocabulary is that you might not remember it all, now, but when you come across it again when you read something else, you'll remember some of them. : D
